Neighbors Helping Neighbors

What an amazing Fall it has been! The strength of community is evident as groups and families come together to address the food shortages we face during this time of year. Each donation helps to ensure Mansfield residents can have a meal during the upcoming holiday season. A huge thank you to all our supporters - your incredible generosity is deeply appreciated!

Wow, let's give a big round of applause to the amazing Mansfield Elementary School Association (MESA)! Every year, this nonprofit parent organization spearheads a monumental food drive involving every student at the Robinson and Jordan/Jackson elementary schools. Boxes are set up outside classrooms, motivating each grade to contribute specific items the Pantry needs. Families send their kids with non-perishable goods, and the boxes quickly overflow with kindness and generosity. Dedicated volunteers work hard setting up this food drive - the planning, working with the schools, organizing volunteers and the timeline, weighing and sorting the donations, and helping in the delivery to the Pantry. This year, under the exceptional direction of Alyssa Cardin and Courtney Tierney, MESA achieved outstanding results, as shown below. The overwhelming support from our elementary school families demonstrates their understanding of the power of giving back to those in need.

Jordan Jackson

85 Boxes

Total of 3,006 pounds!

Robinson

41 Boxes

Total 1,130.5 pounds!

Grand Total - an astounding 4,136.5 pounds of food for the Pantry to give our neighbors in need! Thank you MESA!

We want to thank the generous employees of Toyota Motors in Mansfield. Together their company food drive collected 500 lbs of much needed food for the Pantry!

The Scout groups in our area truly know the meaning of giving and supporting our Mansfield community. Together BSA Scout group 51 B & G, Scout PAC 13, Scout Den 4, and Troup 51 Scouts raised 860 lbs of food for the Pantry! I hope these scouts all earned their badges!

Our community groups really shine when they hold food drives to benefit the Pantry. Every year, The Hindu Swayamsevak Saugh, a group of local Hindu families, hold a food drive for us. And every year, they gather an incredible collection of much needed food. This year they were able to donate an astounding 1000lbs of food! We are grateful for our neighbors who gather together to hold up our neighbors in need.
