Get Involved
We value both the time and energy our volunteers contribute to make our community better. We are proud that the Pantry is operated 100% by committed volunteers. While many of our volunteer opportunities are for adults, there are also opportunities for children to volunteer with their families.
At the Pantry
Throughout the week, our volunteers pick up and shop for food, stock the shelves, prepare bags of groceries, receive food donations, and assist our shoppers. Most of our volunteer needs currently lie on Thursdays and Saturdays to assist during our shopping hours and on Saturday afternoons to accept food donations. Volunteers during shopping hours must be in high school and age 14 and older.
In the Garden
If you have a green thumb or an interest in growing vegetables during the season, you are welcome to join our volunteers tending our plot at the Mansfield Cooperative Garden.
Community Events
Throughout the year, the Pantry also has several community events when volunteers are welcome to help. For instance, Family Fun Night, Stuff-A-Truck events, and the annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger food drive to name just a few.
Children and Families
Volunteering is not just for adults. Children and their families can organize neighborhood food drives. Our Food Drive Coordinator is happy to assist. Alternatively, projects could also include helping receive donations on Saturday afternoons or creating posters to hang in the Pantry.
Our Supporters
The Pantry could not survive without the continuous and tireless effort of our supporters throughout the community. Individuals, families, businesses, civic groups, and religious organizations all contribute to the Pantry’s success. As a result, their endeavors have a positive impact on the Mansfield community. We are extremely grateful for the collective contributions everyone makes to the Pantry.
